LÄSSER – WebShop Privacy Policy
1. The security of user data is paramount
LÄSSER – WebShop respects the privacy of all users of the website and/or online store (hereinafter referred to as “the customer” or “the customers”). This privacy policy is the basis for the processing of personal data and provides information on the type of user data collected from customers by LÄSSER – WebShop, how LÄSSER – WebShop uses this data and what rights customers are entitled to. LÄSSER – WebShop complies with the applicable data protection laws and processes personal data solely for the purposes for which the data was transmitted.
This privacy policy will be adapted, supplemented or amended from time to time. With each new opening of or visit to the website, the current, retrievable version applies.
If any inconsistencies should arise between this privacy policy and the otherwise applicable contractual or business terms and conditions of LÄSSER – WebShop, the provisions of this privacy policy will prevail.
2 Nature and purpose of the data collected
The term “personal data” or “personal information” as used in this privacy policy includes information from which customers can be personally identified.
Processing of personal data means any handling of personal data, such as collecting, using, storing, disclosing, transmitting or deleting the data.
On the one hand, LÄSSER – WebShop collects personal data automatically when the customer interacts with the website or uses the online store. On the other hand, personal data, which a customer provides (e.g. by contacting us, creating a user profile and/or customer account), is collected automatically or manually.
2.1 Automatically collected data
When visiting the LÄSSER – WebShop website, statistical visitor data is automatically collected about which parts of the website are visited by the customer. Each time a web page is accessed, the web server automatically saves a server log file, which contains, for example, the name of the requested file, the customer’s IP address, the date and time of access, the browser used, the operating system, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the access. In this context, it is sometimes necessary to use cookies (cf. section 4 below).
This access data is evaluated exclusively for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of the site and improving our offering.
2.2 Data, when interacting with LÄSSER – WebShop, for contract processing, contacting and opening a customer account
LÄSSER – WebShop does not automatically collect personal data of customers, such as the name, address, telephone number or e-mail address.
However, personal data is collected from customers if a customer voluntarily provides it as part of an order or when contacting LÄSSER – WebShop (e.g. via contact form or e-mail). Mandatory fields are marked as such, because in these cases LÄSSER – WebShop requires the data to process the contract, and/or to process the contact and without this information the order or the contact can not be sent. The respective input forms indicate which data is collected.
If a customer decides to open a customer account, LÄSSER – WebShop uses the personal data for the purpose of opening a customer account. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full, otherwise LÄSSER – WebShop may reject the registration. LÄSSER – WebShop uses the collected personal data only for the purpose of using the online store or the respective offer or service for which the customer has registered. In addition, LÄSSER – WebShop may use the customer’s e-mail address to inform the customer about important changes, for example in the scope of the offer, or in the case of technically necessary changes.
After complete execution of the contract or after deletion of the customer account, the customer’s data will be restricted for further processing and deleted after expiry of the retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless the customer has expressly consented to further use of the data or LÄSSER – WebShop reserves the right to a legally permitted further use of the data. The deletion of the customer account is possible at any time and can be done either by sending a message to the contact details given below (cf. clause 9 below) or via a function provided for this purpose in the customer account.
3. Legal basis for collecting and processing personal data
The legal basis for the collection and processing of the customer’s personal data depends in each individual case on the purpose of the data processing. The following are possible:
- the protection of the legitimate interests of LÄSSER – WebShop, provided that the interests of the customer or fundamental rights or freedoms are not unreasonably impaired;
- the conclusion or performance of a contract; or
- the consent of the customer at the time the personal data was collected. Customers may revoke their consent at any time. For this purpose, customers may send a message to this effect to the contact details given below. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
4. Use of cookies and use of data
4.1 Cookies
In order to continuously improve the web presence for customers, LÄSSER – WebShop may use cookies. Cookies are small pieces of software information that are stored by web browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) on the customer’s computer hard drive to facilitate the use of the website (e.g. language selection, shopping cart, etc.).
Some of the cookies used by LÄSSER – WebShop are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after closing the web browser (session cookies). Other cookies remain on the end device and enable LÄSSER – WebShop to recognize the customer’s web browser on the next visit (persistent cookies). The duration of the storage can be taken from the overview in the cookie settings of the web browser.
Most web browsers automatically accept such cookies, but web browsers can be configured not to accept or store cookies. However, when cookies are disabled, the functionality of the website may be limited. For details, refer to the operating instructions and/or the help function of the web browser.
4.2 Use of the data
The anonymised data, which is recorded by means of cookies when the LÄSSER – WebShop website is opened, can be used for web analysis purposes, to optimise the website and to measure performance. LÄSSER – WebShop may use third-party providers for this purpose, some of which have their own data protection regulations over which LÄSSER – WebShop has no control.
LÄSSER – WebShop uses functions of the following web analysis services:
Google Analytics
is provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google evaluates the use of the website in order to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services related to website and internet usage to LÄSSER – WebShop. The IP address transmitted by the customer’s web browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
The information generated by cookies about the use of the website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google complies with the data protection provisions of the “Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield” agreement and has registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce for the “Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield” (for information on the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield, please visit https://www.privacyshield.gov/Swiss-US-Privacy-Shield-FAQs).
More information can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.
Google Ads and Google Conversion Tracking
is provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Within the framework of Google Ads, LÄSSER – WebShop uses conversion tracking. When the customer clicks on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days at the latest and are not used to identify the customer. If the customer visits the LÄSSER – WebShop website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and LÄSSER – WebShop can recognize that the customer clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
LÄSSER – WebShop learns from Google the total number of users who clicked on the ad and were redirected to a website tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, LÄSSER – WebShop does not receive any information which can be used to personally identify the customer.
For more information, please see Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
Google Maps
is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
LÄSSER – WebShop uses Google Maps to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google transmits and/or processes data about the use of the Maps functions by website visitors, which may include in particular the IP address and location data. LÄSSER – WebShop has no control on this data processing.
Insofar as information is transferred to Google servers in the USA and stored there, the American company Google LLC is certified under the “Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield”.
In order to disable the Google Maps service and thus prevent data transmission to Google, a customer must disable the Java Script function in the web browser. In this case, Google Maps cannot be used or can only be used to a limited extent.
For more information, please see Google’s privacy policy at
https://www.google.com/intl/en_en/help/terms_maps/.
4.3 Social media content
LÄSSER – WebShop may use social media plugins from social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter on the website.
When the customer opens a web page that contains such a plugin, the web browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective social network. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly to the web browser by the respective provider and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive the information that the customer’s web browser has opened the corresponding LÄSSER – WebShop web page, even if the customer does not have a profile with the corresponding social network or is not currently logged in. This information (including the IP address) is transmitted by the customer’s web browser directly to a server of the respective provider (possibly in the USA) and stored there. If the customer is logged into one of the services, the providers of the social network can directly assign the visit to the LÄSSER – WebShop website to the profile in the respective social network. If the customer interacts with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” or “Share” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the providers and stored there. The information is also published on the social network, where it is displayed to the customer’s contacts.
These social network platforms have their own data protection regulations over which LÄSSER – WebShop has no control.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers on their pages, as well as a contact option and the relevant rights of the customers and setting options for the protection of privacy can be found in the privacy statements of the providers:
https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
https://twitter.com/en/privacy
https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388
If the customer does not want any of these plugins to be loaded, it is recommended to log out of the corresponding social networks. Furthermore, various web browsers can be set or supplemented with add-ons (e.g. Facebook blocker) so that the social media plugins are not loaded.
5. Newsletter
If the customer wishes to receive a newsletter offered by LÄSSER – WebShop, LÄSSER – WebShop requires an e-mail address of the customer and other information that allows to verify that the customer is the owner of the specified e-mail address and agrees to receive the newsletter (“double-opt-in” procedure). If customers wish to subscribe to a newsletter as registered customers, they can give consent to this at the time of registration or later via the login feature in the customer account.
With the newsletter, customers regularly receive recommendations and offers that might interest them. For this purpose, LÄSSER – WebShop collects and processes personal data concerning the customer’s usage behaviour on the website, orders placed with LÄSSER – WebShop, and how customers use the newsletter (e.g. whether the newsletter is opened or which web URL links are clicked on). LÄSSER – WebShop may evaluate this data for statistical purposes in order to better tailor the content of the newsletter to the interests of the customers.
The processing of personal data entered in the newsletter registration form is based on the customer’s consent, which the customer may revoke at any time for the future. The revocation can be done either via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter, written notification by the customer to LÄSSER – WebShop at the address given below or unsubscribing in the customer account. LÄSSER – WebShop uses the collected personal data for the content design and dispatch of the newsletter. No data will be passed on to third parties for their own (advertising) purposes.
LÄSSER – WebShop stores the personal data provided by the customer for the purpose of receiving the newsletter until the customer unsubscribes from the newsletter.
6. Sharing your data
LÄSSER – WebShop will not disclose the personal data of customers to third parties. This does not apply if the customer has agreed to the transfer of data to companies that are not affiliated with LÄSSER – WebShop or if LÄSSER – WebShop is required to do so legally, by the authorities or by a court of law. Furthermore, if service providers are involved who support LÄSSER – WebShop in data processing, website administration or in any other way, as well as in the provision of the products and services requested by the customer (e.g. parcel or newsletter delivery service providers). These third parties are required to maintain the same level of security and data protection as LÄSSER – WebShop.
7. Data security
Unfortunately, the transmission of data via the Internet is not absolutely secure. LÄSSER – WebShop cooperates with service and internet providers who take appropriate technical and organisational security precautions to protect the personal data of customers. However, LÄSSER – WebShop cannot guarantee the security of the data transmitted by customers. Any data transmission is therefore at your own risk.
8. Your information and revocation rights
Of course, every customer is free to inform LÄSSER – WebShop at any time – for example in an e-mail – that the personal data should not be used for contact in the future. Participation in the special services of the LÄSSER – WebShop website, such as the newsletter service, can also be revoked at any time.
